Hello!!! My project is still in hiding - but that is not it's fault - I have been in hiding too!! I have not been sewing so, now that I am again, I have to get alot of my projects done - And Judy Martin is one on my big to-do list!!
And I think any JUDY project will do, so Jennifer - welcome to the club!!! And jillquilts -how is finger lakes going??? It is a new season, so lets make a new commitment to ourselves - Let's get outside and bring our projects with us!!! We all need a breath of fresh air, and a good airing of our stale thoughts! GET some sunshine on these projects and some light on our imaginations!! Ladies and Gentlemen - lets make a goal of when these projects need to be done!!
Okay, I am commiting to July 15th 2011!!! I almost didn't put in the year, then thought, it need a year attached. An idea or a plan is just that till you put a date on it - then it's GOAL.
My project is in box right now - it was taken off the wall and put in the box shortly after that pic was taken. Time to clean out that box. Don't we have enough on our mind about things we need to do??? We talk about de-cluttering our house and getting it cleaned out so you feel free. Well, what is stopping us from doing this to our minds?? We all have our projects that we are not working on stored up there in our thinking caps, we need to de-clutter that area!!!! And the only way to do that is to get these lost lonely projects out of the dark and brought to the light, then FINISHED!!!!
Out of sight not out of mind does not work for creative people. So, lets get these things in sight so we can clear them out!! We all have 'new' things we want to do, so we need to de-clutter!!
JULY 15 th 2011. It is a Friday. Hmmmm, I just asked myself a question: is that the top done or the whole thing quilted and bound. oh, wow, uhmmmmm - thoughts are racing - I want it Done. so, Okay, top has to be done by July 15th and off to my quilter - yeah, that is perfect, my tummy isn't so tight now. So, top done and off to quilters on July 15th. That is my goal. OH! AND BINDING READY FOR WHEN THE QUILT GETS BACK SO I WILL HAVE THIS PROJECT COMPLETLY DONE BY SEPT!!!! (my quilter sometimes does not stay around town long enough, she likes to travel, so I am putting that into my plans too!!!! She always gets things done, and I like that! )

Oh man... July??!?!?!?? You are ambitious! I have my pattern picked -but have not gotten fabrics yet - so I am still a ways off from setting a goal.... sad but true. I have been on a roll lately - new projects, UFO's and even an abandoned PIG/FROG that is now back to UFO/in progress status!!! That feels good! My goal is to have them ready to photograph as soon as clothesline weather returns!
I have my Judy (Laquidara) quilt on my UFO list - am doing two UFO challenges this year, so my plan is to work on finishing it up when its number is pulled. Might be 2nd quarter, might not...so I will support your due date Brenda and will set mine when my number is up!
Great plan for you, Brenda! I haven't touched my Finger Lakes since I got it all cut out. I'm not sure there is hope for it this year... :)
I have made 3 Judy Quilts. I have to quilt my husbands quilt. It is 108 x 108 and has a million pieces. I added a row but have to take it out because now it is to long for the bed. It the Kentucky Log Cabin quilt. I didn't like the hundreds of 2 1/2 inch squares in the border so I made pine trees instead. He loves it.
